Education
I have my Bachelor of Arts in Family and Child Studies: Elementary Education (K-6). I also have my Middle School Math Certification (5-8) and my Middle School Language Arts Certification (5-8). I will have my ESL Certification in December 2015. I will also have my Masters in ESL Education in May 2016. I have attended 6 fullday workshops this year alone on Common Core Standards incorporared into the Connected Math Program I use in my district. I also spent 2 weeks and 3 follow-up days at Montclair State this past year to learn more about methods in teaching Algebra skills from grades 5-8.
Experience
I scored a 1920 on my SATs in 2008. I worked at Sylvan Learning Center as a Teacher's Assistant/Tutor for 3 years while in college. I have 3 years of experience in teaching 6th grade Math and 1 year of tutoring 5 students ranging from 5th grade to Algebra. I have taken college classes up to Calculus A. I led a math club called the Mathletes for the last year at my school to promote positive math experiences.
